2 for 2

I'm tooting my own horn here, sort of.

So today was the second time I curled my hair before I went to work. The first day, one of my co-workers said I looked very nice. Today, one of other co-workers kept staring at me. I thought something was on my face, but then she said, "You look really pretty today!"

Moral of the Story: BRUSH YOUR HAIR CHILD. MOMMA WAS RIGHT, GROOM YOURSELF.

the Beast

I just got myself a new cell phone (and number). I like to call it "the Beast." It's the MM A940 by Samsung. I also got my mom one as well... I need to figure out when I'm going to teach her how to use this thing. It has a camcorder and 2.0 mega pixel camera in it. I can also watch TV on it... can't wait to test it out at work on Monday (j/k). It's not so small, but I LOVE it. I'm going through the manual to make sure I get maximum use out of it. HOORAY!

"I Am a Dancer"

I'm actually not, but one can dream... right? Tonight, I decided to take a break from everything and drown myself in song. I got to be some of my favorite leading ladies, belching rather loudly [But hopefully not so loud as to disturb my grandfather and sister]. I'd like to think I did my girls justice [haha, you may want to ask my grandfather or sister on that one]. And I don't hate, I was some of my favorite leading gently men as well. Can't go wrong with trying to sing all the harmonies with BSB [errr, creating my own not so soothing harmonies]... although I do like N'Sync better. [Did I just admit that out loud?]

It's been quite awhile since I drowned out all the noise through song. It's actually so great. I used to do this at around 3am... when it seemed like the whole world was asleep and I could stop thinking or think of everything :D Maybe someday I'll get to belch in a city near you. HA.... after all, I am a dancer.

It Pays to Discover

Here's my new card design. I don't know why I picked it... but I thought the dog was cute, and well... you know that green is my favorite :D

Dry Cleaners, Part 1

It's high time I found myself some place to dry clean all my suits. So I decided to call around and find some dry cleaners near my place. My mom suggested this one place she usually goes to, but they're so expensive. There is also my sister's friend's place... they have hooked me up before (I think). So, I called around a good 5 places to get some quotes and any sort of reassurance on the quality of their work (No real luck in the quality). Worse comes to worse, I could just take one suit to each location and see which I like best... BUT HOW DO YOU KNOW? I don't know what a "good job" is. I don't have stains on my suits (a miracle in itself), but my co-worker told me that her dry cleaners put so much starch on her suit that when she wore it, her sleeve ripped because she contracted her arm! And what about pricing... What is too expensive and what is too cheap.

Well, the nearest location to my house just so happens to be owned by Vietnamese folks. I had a lovely conversation with the lady on the phone. She just told me to come check it out. They open at 6:30am (Too bad I'm already on my way to work but that hour)! If I drop my stuff off before 9am, I can pick it up the same day. How about that? I'm in no rush though. They close at 7pm, but that's when I'm at the gym. Looks like big sis is going to have to help me out, but I really want to talk with them... Get to know them... Become friends :D Maybe I'll go tonight! I will try my luck with these folks.

Let's just hope the place doesn't burn down like the place in Austin. Poor Myden... did you ever get any money back for your clothes? I still have all my suit receipts, just in case. I don't know where that would get me if something were to happen, but man... what on earth would I wear to work if all my suits went away. I sure can't toss on a pair of gym shorts.

Call Me Harp

[This post is dedicated to my Argentine friends, I miss you all dearly].

A couple summers ago, I went to San Juan, Argentina. It was quite an experience and I got to meet so many wonderful people. As you can imagine speaking another language can be difficult, especially when it comes to pronouncing names. Prior to my arrival in San Juan, I was in Mendoza for about a week, and it was here that I discovered Argentines had difficulty pronouncing my name.

So, on the bus ride to San Juan, I decided to pick a new name for myself... something easier for my new friends to pronounce. I don't know why I didn't want to go with something a little simpler, like Ana, but I decided to thumb through my Spanish/English dictionary to find a new name. I of course hit up the "A" section and come across "arpa."

Fast forward: I am now in San Juan and am ready to showcase my new name. We're standing in a group and introducing ourselves, and it's my turn. I proceed to say, "Hola, Me llamo Annette, pero llamame Arpa!" [Direct translation: Hi! My name is Annette, but call me harp.]

Yeah, you can imagine the stare I got. And as I reprocessed what I said out loud, I just couldn't stop laughing. It didn't help that my new friends were laughing too. You can imagine how silly that must have sounded. "Hi, my name is Annette but call me harp."

From that point on, I just introduced myself as Ana :D

Not Usually A Fan

I'm usually not that big of a fan when it comes to surprises. It's just not a part of my personality because I don't like what is unexpected. Even the good surprises make me cringe. But this weekend changed my view on surprises. I definitely enjoy the good ones now. Thanks Coach, for bringing me my surprise... even if you didn't know it. LOL... it was great seeing you too Coach, I'll see ya in 4 days :D

Break My Heart

Here's an article on how Peja Stojakovic is over-rated. I, unfortunately, agree... but nonetheless, I am still a Peja fan.

Errr, I can't repull the article... but oh well...

Break my heart.
